Sounds like zl1
not for automatic transmission
It's the same in 2012 SS?
That was me when I first got my Camaro. Months later I’m less shaky but I still get the bumps
Yeah, trust me… I’ve eaten up a near new set of Continental Extra Contact DS06 Plus’…. in barely 6 months.. I now keep my extra heavy hooning (sliding, donuts) to mainly rainy days. As far as actual drifting, I have some locations I’ve had, but they don’t kill tires nearly as quick, depending on your attack/approach. On a daily basis though, I try to baby the car and short shift around less than 2.5k, unless it’s up a hill or steep incline, then I rev it out to maybe 3-3200. Even in traffic, I barely need to go beyond 3500 when I downshift, to overtake. If you do the actual speed limit in this car (and keep the car in good shape), it’s pretty easy to get brochure MPG numbers. Depending on whether you have an auto (L99 with AFM) or a manual (LS3), this will affect your MPG. Both have their pro’s and con’s…. Have you modded the car at all, or taken the car on any long drives/trips? Ever tracked the car or given a few all-out drag day runs?
Thank you for this. I was specifically looking for an SUV to tow my car trailer and car (5000 lbs) and you had exactly that in your video which is extremely rare in car reviews. That answered my question 100% and the Touareg is definitely top of my list to replace my aging (gas guzzling) Yukon.
Mine put out 280 whp fully stock on dynojet
Very nice video.
I towed a 2.6 tonne tandem caravan around Australia for 2.5 years and it was simply sensational, fuel mileage was outstanding and she never ran out of steam despite some quite challenging climbs. Compared to the Toyota Landcruiser which is so popular here she held her own. The weight of the Treg was a real bonus when towing as the arse sat still in all conditions and the torque you mentioned was another bonus. Tyre wear and brakes were also fair. If I have one problem with the Treg it is that I dont think the electrics are as good as they should be and we had endless probs with ACC, heaters, fans and ac as well as sensors. You need a healthy wallet to support the VW dealership service charges.
I'm looking to get one of these and this video was really helpful in deciding on making my first Subie purchase🖤
Thanks
Have owned 2 different touregs v8 2004 and tdi 2014. Both have been great vehicles.
Why did you sell them?
@@danmc2678 because it’s old
@@mateuscabrerait would still be running, those TDIs get over 300k
Bro idk if it’s just me but I literally come back to this video to watch how scared this man gets at the end lol 😂
Brooooo lmfao the guys hand was shaking so bad lmao he scared himself hhaha but good vid doe
Im buying one with 87000 will it last a long time like 150,000?
Yes if really good engine oil is used and changed every 10,000 miles.
@@benscupps7132 good . I need too find a Touareg
If your getting the tdi they will go 250,000 or more miles.
@@GradyRho92 I want a touereg tdi under 90k miles
Jeffrey Kumjian with the tdi’s, if maintenance is performed there basically indestructible.
When does he pull the pole out of his ass? What step is that ?
i stay with my RX450h !
yusss
First fast car bro? lol
you guys do realize SAE standards for power measurement are at the crank with the engine fully dressed.
really nice that honda prelude its beutiful😜😜😜😜😜😜😜
305whp for a 348hp is actually good since a 2010 camaro with a l99 auto makes 400hp and about 323whp
this video was longer than it needed to be. you didnt need to show 3 versions of the same dyno run.
Detailed, video
is there more video about launch control?
Sweeet! Tks wasn't exactly sure how to activate this feature!
What gear do you launch in!? It can't be first, I know that....
Of course its 1st gear!!! Wtf lol
caution0101 No, I'm pretty sure it isn't. I just spin out in one place! Nice smoke show but you don't go anywhere. Can't do anything till at least April or May now; gonna try third gear next...
puffrooster launch around 2500 rpm, and don't dump the clutch.
In first gear?
puffrooster nah rev it up to about 5 then putit in fifth and dump the clutch youll be the king of the strip
Why do I keep spelling it Lunch Control.
You say the hp numbers are inflated? You do understand there's a average 15-20% difference in crank vs wheel hp right? And that car companies rate their engines by crank hp.
I hop everyone gets that manufactures advertise crank horsepower which you can only accurately measure by taking the engine out of the car and putting on an engine dyno, and wheel horsepower tends to be so,we here around a 15-20% loss in RWD car and maybe the same if not a little more like 25-30% in AWD cars because of parasitic losses like the transmission differential and such. So when you do that math Hyundai's numbers are within a few horsepower of the actual horsepower on this dyno, which every car makes a little bit different power so it makes perfect sense
Justin Walters really bugs me when people do this. That actually shows about exactly what they claim at the motor if not slightly more. How hard is it to differentiate wheel hp from flywheel hp?
Isnt fwd 15% rwd 25% and awd 30%. The tl sh 2010 has about 305-315hp but only gets about 225 whp
Preval_xMiist 30% is terrible loss even for awd, awd at most should be 20%, rwd around 15% and about the same for fwd
I own a 2015 nismo 370z, and am planing on getting a 2015 genesis, only because now I have a baby... Hate the way the interior looks during the day though >< And I've seen a 2014 genesis ultimate, on a regular dyno, the numbers were around 280hp ish....
does it come with LSD?
The r spec and gt versions do, not sure about the other ones
FYI All Canadian 3.8's 2013+ have LSD.
next time you go drag racing buddy, keep the wheel straight...
350hp x .20 = 280whp 350hp x .15 = 297.5whp The numbers Hyundai claims seem about right.
+Greg Coleman yeah my 20 year old car has the same drivetrain loss as well, lol.
mine put down 292whp when stock
WTF???? Nobody wants to see you man.Show the car!!!!! And please look for another job..car review it´s not for you
Ooooooooh my cars got this feature :) i love it mines a manual tranz. You can do more with manual tranz.
um.. my camaro doesnt fish tail with using launch control lol
That's what I was saying. Why you fishing tailing doesn't that defeat the purpose of launch control
I just found this out earlier today went out and tried it and mine definitely doesn't fish tail haha for some reason mine also revs to like 5k
Mine will fish tail a little
looked so scared…lol
Riley Potter thats gonna be me when i get my first manual v8
love the 2013's they really made it an incredible car, i'd take it over any of the v6 competitors on the market without even blinking. great job KDM
What a pathetic review. How about telling us what you DONT like about the vehicle!!!!
maybe the car is flawless
I found it to be a great review
It will loses even more with the wheels on
You won't lose much at all. The added mass of the wheels is miniscule compared to the reciprocating mass of the engine and drivetrain. Plus the RPM reduction from engine to wheels lessens the impact even more. This is all calibrated and compensated for by the measuring device anyway, so it's an accurate measurement.
@Jeason10101.............. Everything about your comments just make you look confused.
Damn almost a 50 hp loss? Either way 300+ stock is good
The stated number of 348 would be at the crank, 50 hp loss thru parasitic transmission/rear-end isn't that bad. I love the genesis, I'm just curious how tight the tolerances are in the motor, and if after 100k miles they just spontaneously combust!
RE: Dyno Numbers being off from advertised numbers After owning and driving my 2013 R-Spec 3.8 cold to hot for the first few weeks, I suspected a de-tune in the ECU until the engine is warmed up. Contacted the dealer service department and 2 of their techs confirmed the car will hold back until fully warmed up. Makes sense, since you shouldn't be pushing a high perf motor until it's all warmed up anyway. So seems you need to run it at the proper operating temp (IE: fully warmed up) to get accurate dyno numbers. Don't let it get cold between runs. ;)
Explains me me getting on the freeway and going nowhere when trying to merge
That luigi90210 guy sure was defending the hell out of his Nissan 370. Poor mans GT-R? I report, you decide.
Manual only. Gas mileage is the same as a regular SS.
It was the TDI. Lots more information about the vehicle on our website's article about it (below the video in the summary section, there's a direct link to it). Dave
really good and complete review of the best suv :)
Hi. Our review was with the TDI. Honestly, it's been gone for a while now but if we (my family) could afford it, this would be the top choice for a family / vehicle that can tow. Truly loved it!!! Beyond the video, check out our written review which includes a LOT more info about the Touareg at GoAheadTakeTheWheel dot com (on landing page, it's one of the favorites on the left, scroll down) or in the above video description, click on show more and there's a link. Dave
Hi Dave. Did you find the 2012 Touareg TDI was too expensive to maintain? I am looking at a 2012 Executive model TDI with $72k for $15k (total, with taxes)
Excellent review! I really like your unpretentious, objective and hands-on approach. It is refreshingly different from that of some of the so-called "big guns" who tell us more about their own prejudices than the actual, everyday merits of the vehicle itself.
This car might dyno more here but I seen dyno in person not that high therr decently fast but no 370z
every car on the market losses 15-20% Even your piss ant 370z
@@rabidrizon977 the 370z is slightly faster than my first gen 3.8 so the 2nd gen 3.8 is just the same as the 370z
